Gentle Leader Headcollar Black

The Gentle Leader Headcollar Black stops dogs pulling and lunging on the lead, so walks are calmer for both of you. It comes in four sizes chosen by your dog's adult weight, from small breeds to giant breeds.

It is not a muzzle. A soft nylon neck strap sits high on the neck and a padded nose loop sits loosely across the base of the muzzle. When your dog pulls, that force becomes gentle pressure across the muzzle and back of the neck. The same headcollar comes in blue, red and purple. Pair it with a lead from our dog leads range and keep Yours Droolly chicken training sticks handy for rewards.

Key features

• Discourages pulling and lunging on the lead
• Not a muzzle: your dog can eat, drink, pant, fetch and bark
• Soft nylon neck strap and nose loop
• Padded nose loop for extra comfort
• Four sizes for dogs from 5kg to 55kg and over

How to use

Never keep constant tension on the lead. Releasing it rewards good behaviour and allows free panting, especially if your dog is stressed. Never jerk the lead. Guide your dog with a smooth forward and upward pull.

• X-Large: adult weight 55kg and over, giant breeds and oversized or large-headed dogs
